Cincoze Debuts DIN-Rail Computer Series for Smart Manufacturing

Cincoze has announced a new addition to its MAGNET line of industrial computers. The MD-3000 DIN-Rail computer series is powered by 14th/13th/12th Gen Intel Core processors and features a scalable design for increased storage, I/O, and other capabilities. Cincoze has designed these computers to enhance machine vision performance in robotics and inspection operations.

MD-3000 DIN-Rail Computer Series

Cincoze has designed the MD-3000 series industrial computers to enhance machine vision performance. Communication with the computer is made possible via WiFi, GSM, and GNSS. The MD-3000 series is built for high-performance, powered with up to a 14th-generation Intel i9 Core processor. This chipset supports up to 24 cores and 32 threads while consuming only 65 W. Additional models are available with earlier-generation processors (12th, 13th) for when some performance can be sacrificed in the name of economics.

The MD-3000’s ability to support over a dozen modules provides the flexibility in power, options, connectivity, and local storage. The computers are available with two-, four-, or six-slot expansion chassis and can be paired with over a dozen modules. The modules range from PoE capability to storage and I/O devices.

All this capability is packed into a compact 150 mm height. Additionally, the MD-3000 series computers are DIN-rail mountable, making them easy to integrate with other hardware physically. Each computer features two patented thermal protection systems: the Dynamic Thermal Mechanism and the Smart Over Temperature Protection (OTP). The computers operate on 9 VDC to 48 VDC and withstand harsh industrial environments, operating over a temperature range of -40°C to 65°C.

Enhancing Machine Vision

With enhanced machine vision performance, Cincoze’s MD-3000 industrial computer is suitable for many applications. In particular, the computers can be used to improve smart bin picking and packing operations and to perform numerous inspection tasks.

Smart bin picking and packing rely heavily on image processing to determine where items are located in a bin, and also how they are stacked. This way, when the manipulator grabs an item, the other items are not in danger of getting dropped or crashing into each other in a way that will damage them. Smarter, faster machine vision performance makes this task more efficient.

The MD-3000 is also capable of performing several types of inspection tasks. Laser, structured-light technology, and 2D/3D camera inputs can be used for inspection tasks via the I/O modules. Cameras can be used to perform a visual inspection to ensure that their surface characteristics meet specifications. For example, they can ensure that paint has no chips, coatings are not spalling, and other such tasks. Also, the MD-3000 can be used in dimensional analysis to make sure products meet all design requirements.
